The Reach Multiplier: 7 ways your consultancy can borrow an audience so you don’t have to build from scratch

Last week, one member of the Consultancy Growth Club shared a breakthrough:

"I stopped trying to build my audience from zero and started borrowing reach instead. I’ve quadrupled my profile views in just a few weeks compared to the previous 6 months."

He’s done it by strategically commenting on other people's posts every day.

This is the power of amplification loops - strategic ways to get in front of new people using other people's audiences, platforms, and networks.

While most consultants are perfecting their content, smart ones are borrowing reach from established audiences. It's faster, more efficient, and gets you in front of people who are already engaged.

Here are the 7 amplification loops that are working right now for our members:

1. Strategic LinkedIn commenting

Don't just scroll - comment with intention. Find 3-5 LinkedIn posts daily where your ideal prospects are already engaged.

Insider tip: Treat comments like mini-posts. Add a contrarian take or share a quick story - aim for 2-3 lines that could stand alone.

I’ve created the Comments-To-Clients Playbook that gives you the exact breakdown on how you can do this - you can find the link at the bottom of this post.

2. Joint LinkedIn lives

Co-host a 20-minute LinkedIn Live with someone who serves your audience differently.

Insider tip: Pick one specific problem to solve together. Promote to both networks 48 hours ahead with identical messaging.

3. Podcast guest spots

Borrow a tuned-in audience in your niche for 30-45 minutes.

Insider tip: Have 3 story-backed topics ready to pitch. Make yourself easy to book by being specific about what you'll deliver.

4. Co-authored posts

Collaborate on a LinkedIn post with a peer. Both post a version of it, both engage in comments.

Insider tip: Write the hook together so it resonates with both audiences. Tag each other naturally in the first comment.

5. Peer shout-outs

Mention and tag peers in your posts when it's genuine and adds value.

Insider tip: Share something specific they taught you or helped you with. Make them look good, and you'll naturally build reciprocal relationships.

6. Micro-events

Run intimate roundtables (6-8 people) focused on solving one clear problem.

Insider tip: Ask each attendee to invite one other relevant contact. Doubles your room with zero extra effort on your part.

7. Group content drops

Share valuable resources in LinkedIn groups or communities where your prospects hang out.

Insider tip: Don't judge success on likes or comments. Watch for profile visits, DMs, and connection requests - then start real conversations.

The community advantage

Here's what our 30 members have taught me: intimate beats massive every time. When someone discovers what works, we all know within days. No algorithm to fight. No noise to cut through. Just real feedback from people running consultancies just like yours.

The member who quadrupled his profile views - started with strategic commenting (Loop #1) and saw results by week three.

By week four, we’d all learned of his success, so we could start implementing it ourselves.

Your next move

Pick one loop from this list and commit to testing it for the next 30 days. The consultants who act on this will be building relationships while others are still perfecting their content strategy.

If you're not sure where to start, try strategic commenting - it's free, fast, and works for everyone in our small community who's done it consistently.

I’ve also created a free playbook that explains exactly how you can do it. Grab your copy here.
